Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Vice President and Chief Administration Officer Dr Luky Eko Wuryanto met with GI Hub Chief Executive Officer Chris Heathcote and senior staff in Sydney today.

Dr Wuryanto briefed Mr Heathcote on the current work of the AIIB, and emphasized the role AIIB plays in connecting Asia through investment in sustainable infrastructure.

Mr Heathcote said the work of the AIIB and other multilateral development banks across the world was critical in delivering quality and much-needed infrastructure across communities.

“It’s been really important for us to hear about the AIIB’s work,” he said. “The GI Hub is ready to offer assistance to the AIIB in unlocking the trillions of dollars held in investor funds for infrastructure projects.”

Mr Heathcote and senior staff provided a briefing on the GI Hub’s major projects, including the Project Pipeline, a new free online platform providing free information on government infrastructure projects to help the private sector make decisions on investments, and the Risk Matrices work, which provides guidance for PPP projects in allocating risk.

As well, GI Hub staff provided updates on work staff are undertaking that will be relevant to the AIIB and other multilateral development banks.

The AIIB was established in January 2016 with the goal of working across Asia to address infrastructure needs.
