The OECD developed a Framework for the Governance of Infrastructure, which was endorsed by the G20. This framework identifies the major governance challenges and suggests various policy options to promote private investment. Investors are more likely to engage and make the long-term investment decisions if they see public sector as a reliable partner and competent manager of public policy. The OECD conducted a survey highlighting 10 governance challenges that countries face which includes promoting strategic planning across many divisions of government, managing threats to integrity, ensuring good regulatory design, ensuring an integrative consultation process, and ensuring value-for-money and affordability
