The Arab Financing Facility for Infrastructure (AFFI) is a partnership between the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to foster infrastructure investment in Arab countries for economic growth and regional integration. AFFI was officially launched in April 2011 in Amman, Jordan, where Arab countries, international finance institutions (IFIs) and representatives of the private sector agreed to mobilize support and efforts for infrastructure development in the region to meet the population’s needs by delivering affordable high quality infrastructure services and creating economic opportunities, including growth and jobs.

AFFI supports infrastructure projects through a variety of instruments and through it four components:

  1. AFFI Policy Forum
  2. AFFI Technical Assistance Facility
  3. Public Financing - IFI Lending
  4. Private Financing - Arab Infrastructure Investment Vehicle (AIIV)
