Our Action Group

The GI Hub Circular Economy in Infrastructure (CEI) Action Group is a collaborative group working to advance and increase understanding of circular infrastructure. The group is currently pursuing five short-term priorities:

1. Create a vision: Develop a shared vision of what a circular economy means for infrastructure
2. Map systems: Create a schematic of the infrastructure ‘system of systems’ in the circular economy
3. Map material flows: Map material flows in the ‘system of systems’ to understand where and how resources are used across the infrastructure lifecycle
4. Build a data pool: Gather data and evidence on best practices, targets, and benefits of circular infrastructure
5. Define impactful opportunities: Define opportunities for circular infrastructure to have the most impact.

The CEI Action Group includes senior leaders in circular economy and infrastructure from across the public and private sectors. Members are drawn from five international organisations, one university, one research organisation, several governments, and four private sector organisations.

The diversity of the group and its collaborative structure builds bridges across the public and private sectors, across regions, and across disciplines to create more actionable solutions and ultimately more positive impact.
