Steven Hong, Senior Manager of the Global Infrastructure Hub, delivered a presentation on developments in Australia’s infrastructure policy and practices at the annual Asia PPP Practitioners’ Network (APN) Conference. The annual APN conference first began in 2010 and has evolved into a major platform for Asia’s senior PPP practitioners to explore trends and analyse critical issues, share best practice, and support regional collaboration. In 2018, the theme was ‘Searching for a balance between private and public in PPPs’, held for four days beginning on 5th of November in Seoul and jointly organised and sponsored by:
- Korea’s Ministry of Economy and Finance;
- Korea Development Institute
- World Bank Group; and
- Asian Development Bank
Steven presented about global developments in infrastructure markets, application of Economic Regulation to PPPs, asset recycling implementation considerations, and application of unsolicited proposals.
The APN Conference was well attended, with senior officials from Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos PDR, Georgia, Mongolia, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Cook Islands and Kazakhstan, and included private partners as well to deliver a private perspective.
